I did not say it was relevant to him dying. Nor did I suggest, as your silly comment claimed, that it meant he deserved to die. That's a highly disrespectful comment.

Don't get petty. Quote my entire piece. Don't end it at, "but."
I agreed that assumptions were being made about Trayvon. If you'd quote me entirely, and not just the small piece that fits your agenda, you'd see that the "but" was followed with the comment that assumptions were also being made about Zimmerman.

The point that you missed is charges being filed isn't the the end-all, be-all. If charges are never filed against Zimmerman, will you come out here and take ZImmerman's side since none were filed?
If Trayvon took a swing at a bus driver, and that's still an IF, that's something to be taken into consideration. Just as Zimmerna's past violence is something to be taken into consideration.

you know the word "but" in the context of a sentence just eliminates everything said before it....
example...i think you're a great cop but there are better ones

You're 100% wrong. It's an acknowledgment that there have been assumptions and accusations made about BOTH Trayvon and Zimmerman. Why would I agree that there have been assumptions about Trayvon and then immediately say there haven't been?

Here's a better example: Your son asks you if you love him or your other son better. You say there's no answer to that, as you love them the same. Your son asks, "don't you love me dad?" You reply, "yes, but I love your brother also."
You can play all you want. I see that you're playing, that's why I pointed out how silly your comment was.

And a history of violence from Zimmerman is relevant. But, history of violence from Trayvon would also be relevant.
See, there's that "but" again.

Semantics.
"Yes, but I love him also" has the same meaning as "yes and I love him also." Saying "but" does not cancel what you just said prior to it.

Do you lend the same weight to a tweet as you do a police report?

Good post, RP. It seems that 95% of the posters at HM (and similar percentages of the media and the populace) have already decided one of two things - Zimmerman is a racist who shot an unarmed black kid with absolutely zero provocation - or Zimmerman is an innocent who was attacked by the black kid.
I'll repeat what you said for emphasis. It disgusts me to see both sides doing it.

and as a public speaker the word "but" is taught not to be used. I am certified through Langevin training services.

I know you believe people can change, and in this instance what my opinion is and I think what Corpus is saying is that trayvon was showing a tendency of going in the wrong direction while Zimmerman was showing a tendency of going in the right direction. now all that means little in the face of the impending evidence and such, but from my view when I hear a kid of any race,or financial level that is finding trouble more and more frequently and suspensions are becoming more and more part of his life I am correct to wonder if he was a little too aggresive in this instance.
I repeat this doesn't mean anyone deserves to die it just adds some context to who the people are in all of this sordid debacle.
