Funny how little things hit ya!

I cannot believe that my baby is on her last deployment. Thou I was only TDY for a short time on the big E on a Westpac Cruise Ive always called her my ship. 50 plus years of loyal service to the fleet. The longest sailing Carrier in any mans or womans Navy. My wife says there will be a new USS Enterprise by 2024. Her & I will be there for the christening if the lord lets us!

Wasn't she the longest aircraft carrier ever?

Not sure if she was the longest, but I do know that the speeds the Enterprise could attain, well lets just say the entire ships crew could waterski behind her. Was 1 fast boat, atleast at the time.

I bet the other ships in the Carrier group didn't like that...

Always sad to see a ship that you were a part of end its' career. Every ship I was on is now gone, either scrapped or scuttled. Their legacies will live on forever.
