    Compromise not a dirty word!

According to Barbara Bush anyway! “I hate that people think compromise is a dirty word,” she said. “It’s not a dirty word.”

Honestly, I think that may prove the downfall of the Tea Party in the long run. Barbara Bush is right, compromise is NOT a dirty word (as the Tea Party openly says it is) and is actually necessary to get anything done in government.

Compromise is only good if it's the right doing it silly.

Or Dems compromising with each other, like in 2008-10. Yeah, that bipartisan train was really humming along then....

Compromise needs to come from both sides. Entitlement reform would be a good starter for Dems.

I hate the term "compromise" in the political sense. Usually it means taking two partisan/dogmatic solutions and meeting in the middle, however, neither starting positions make any sense!

To use another buzz word..I would like to see a more pragmatic approach. That is getting down and dirty and actually doing some analysis (without any starting dogmatic views) and coming up with the best solution. There seems to be too little of that from Capital Hill on both sides.

And what would be a good starter for Pubs?

Fair tax can do that plus poverty level does not have to pay taxes.

The day dems and pubs come together yet on tax reform is the day we hire BC as head coach again

Born a Nebraskan, raised a Nebraskan, will die a Nebraskan!! Go Big Red!

Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” - Gamalie the Pharisee - Addressing the Sanhedrin regarding the new group called Christians
"I support collecting more in taxes from people with high incomes who choose to actually pay taxes at lower tax rates than use lawyers and accountants to avoid taxes at higher tax rates," he wrote. "Some tax revenues at low tax rates is a heckuva lot better than no tax revenues at high tax rates." - Art Laffer (on 999 plan)
