How is this guy any different than Matt Hill? I know you never like to see talent get away but we wouldnt have been any better off with him.

How do we know Matt Hill wouldn't have had an entirely different outcome had he gone to NU? We don't. He was plagued by injuries at Texas...injuries are sometimes dumb luck. Maybe he stays healthy at NU. Maybe with less competition for playing time he develops more/quicker. Just because a guy didn't do great at one place doesn't mean he wouldn't have been good elsewhere.

But like recruiting in any sport...it's inexact. Some guys that project well don't pan out and some guys who appear to be "nice" players turn into all-americans (Doug McDermott/Kyle Korver...sorry for the CU reference!). But over time if you are taking/recruiting the best possible players you are going to have the best possible talent...some hit, some miss...but you can only go with the information you have at the time.

Not that they wouldn't, but if I was a coach recruiting him I'd keep a good relationship with him and Behrens just in case he decides the first stop isn't working out. With so many transfers these days you just never know.

I think I read somewhere that over 400 D1 players are transferring this year...maybe that's the norm but I wouldn't think so.

I heard when Matt Hill signed with Texas that he would have been a great get for the Huskers...and Texas was settling....

So it would be different in the fact that this is a better prospect than Hill...

I would assume they will....but that is a good point. I am rooting for him to succeed but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him go to a power like UConn or Georgetown and have someone playing in front of him and then have them sign someone with just as much clout as Akoy and have him get lost in the shuffle. I think he's a better talent than others that may have had that happen to them, but it can happen to anyone.

I heard he made a surprise visit to Coach Miles. Any one hearing how it went? Do we have a shot?

With UCONN getting banned from postseason you wonder if that helps eliminate one of the schools that will be in on Agau?

It's only for next year (as of now) so it shouldn't matter.

While this is true, you have to be pretty bad as a program to be kciked out of postseason, that won't be easy to remedy I suspect.
