How about a women's basketball BBS?
There is a Volleyball BBS, why not one for the Lady Huskers? Who, by the way, are currently tied for first place in the Big Ten! I think it would help spark interest in the ladies!

We have tix to the Regionals in Des Moines - here's hoping the Husker Ladies end up there!!!

I think maybe a "women's sports" forum would be better.
Honestly, a women's basketball forum would get so little play. My hats off to them, but women's basketball generally bores the heck out of me -- no matter how good they are. It's just an ugly game too often for my taste.
Women's volleyball, on the other hand... that's a dynasty at Nebraska. The only sport you can put on the same level as the football team. And for that matter, women's volleyball appears so much more athletic... truly brings out the skills of the women to the point where I know they would absolutely destroy me in a game. I can't say the same about women's basketball.
Anyhow, I'm all for lumping women's volleyball, basketball, and whatever other sports into the same forum -- and labeling it as such. That would be cool.

I abhor basketball but do like to watch the Lady Huskers. I support a women's forum with specific teams broken out.

The Lady Huskers have improved significantly over the last few years and I think if they had more visibility with either their own forum or a combined women's teams forum they would gain fan awareness and support. I find the women to play much more as a team and not so hot shot like the men which is why I prefer to follow them over the men.

So what do we need to do to make it so?

We will be adding a Women's Basketball BBS. I should be able to get to it later in the day.
Born a Nebraskan, raised a Nebraskan, will die a Nebraskan!! Go Big Red!
Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” - Gamalie the Pharisee - Addressing the Sanhedrin regarding the new group called Christians
"I support collecting more in taxes from people with high incomes who choose to actually pay taxes at lower tax rates than use lawyers and accountants to avoid taxes at higher tax rates," he wrote. "Some tax revenues at low tax rates is a heckuva lot better than no tax revenues at high tax rates." - Art Laffer (on 999 plan)

As a parent of nine year old twins, watching women's basketball teaches them better fundamentals about the sport than the men's game does. The men's game may be more exciting in terms of athleticism and individual skills; but, it is easier to teach a child about the game when watching the ladies.
I was at the NU game at Iowa with my brother and we both were really into the action with a very vocal crowd on hand.

Common myth that's been floated about women's basketball for a long time.
Watch WELL COACHED men's teams and you will see lots of good fundamental basketball. On the college level..forget the NBA.

i've watched a lot of both. my opinion remains unchanged...you can find good men's college basketball and we'll watch it when it's on. But, we do tend to choose to seek out Nebraska, Iowa, and Tennessee women's games over any men's game. It probably makes a difference that one of the kids is a daughter.
I definitely agree with you on the NBA -- haven't watched that in 15+ years.
