Shelton picked up a USC offer

Just heard on Unsportsmanlike Conduct that Shelton picked up a USC offer. This could make it even harder to get his signature tomorrow.

This doesn't help our chances. He is from the area so the chance to play close to home could be too good to pass up.

On a positive note, it could also mean that USC knows they aren't getting Peat and that opened up a schollie they had set aside in case he chose them.

I keep hearing how USC is going to be on the upswing but being limited to only 15 scholarships for the next few years has got to take a toll. Are they even eligible for a bowl game next year?

Shelton is the one guy I think we lose tommorow....will end up at Washington in my opinion.....if that happens expect Sebastian Smith to get an offer and be 'N'.....he would be a great pickup....

Our chances frankly are not good anyway....I think he ends up at Washington....the coach who had recruited hin to Oregon State is now at Washington....has built a relationship with him....I don't see USC in this....I could be wrong....Nebraska I woudl be surprised if we land him....

I agree with you of course....I think Sebastian Smith ends up being the S commit tommorow....from what I hear he would take the offer with no arguments..

Yes. USC is bowl eligible, Pac-12 championship eligible, and BCS championship eligible. They still have to deal with the scholarship reductions, but the post-season sanctions have been lifted. This is the main driving force in Barkley deciding to return to USC this season.

Smith has kind of gotten lost in the shuffle the last couple of weeks. If Ford is also out, as the LJS is reporting, then Smith would seem to be the guy if we still want another DB.

Its bad news frankly. I agree with RR in that I thought he was Washington bound anyways, but now I think Nebraska is in 3rd. Too bad because I have also heard Raymond Ford is out if the picture for Nebraska too. With Fuller, Diggs, Lambert and now Shelton seemigly out of the picture, I would hate to see Nebraska miss out on Andrus Peat too.

Nebraska has a solid class, no doubt. But if they end up losing out on Peat, Fuller, Diggs, Lambert, Goodman and Shelton its going to sting a little IMO.

Their ban on the postseason is finished, now they get the 3-years of 15-man recruiting classes. They are having an outstanding class too BTW. According to Rivals, 11 of their 13 commits are 4 or 5 star players.

I don't think it will sting if we get Peat, VV, Moore and Curry. Also I hear Smith is ours to lose.
