ESPN, CBS announce National Signing Day coverage (Peat to announce on ESPNU/3)

FYI....I rarely if ever watch this stuff.....

Peat's announcement since he is on the west coast will probally not be CT early....so hopefully folks don't get in panic mode at 0800 CST.....

Brother Todd's annoucement was around 07:30 Arizona time as I recall....time to be announced I'm sure in the next few days...

ESPNU will have 10-hours of live coverage starting at 9 a.m. ET with its seventh annual ESPNU National Signing Day Special with live look-ins on SportsCenter throughout the day. The program will also be simulcast on ESPN3 for those who wish to view it on their computers or mobile devices.

Senior national recruiting analyst Tom Luginbill along with Craig Haubert will be joined by former Miami coaches Randy Shannon and Butch Davis among others to discuss the days happenings.

Several high-profile players are expected to make their decisions public on the show as well including Dorial Green-Beckham, Andrus Peat, and Tracy Howard.

CBS will provide coverage of NSD as well with eight hours of coverage on CBS Sports Network and CBSSports.com. National recruiting expert Tom Lemming will be joined by former Illinois coach Ron Zook and former UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel along with college insider Bruce Feldman.

The coverage kicks off Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS Network with a special edition of the Lemming Report with Tom Lemming.

Starting at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, CBS Network will continue its coverage with analysis as well as interviews with current coaches including Miami’s Al Golden and Ohio State’ Urban Meyer.

Think there is any chance that the reason allot of these silent commits/ signing day decisions are out there is because someone from a TV network has whispered to these kids not to announce early in hopes that the networks can drive up ratings? "hey kid, pssst we will put you on national TV if you can delay your announcement."

Quite likely. I am okay with that as long as the coaching staffs have been notified once the player makes his decision. But if he keeps everybody in limbo just so he can increase the suspense, well......

Peat seems like a quality person, from a quality family, so I am sure he will let the coaching staffs know as soon as he decides. But I don't think we will be able to tell what his decision is until he actually announces, because I don't think any of us really know how many players we will be taking this year. I have heard estimates from 17 to 21. And maybe it is more than that. So regardless of how many signed commits we have before Peat announces, I think we will all be in suspense.

My best guess is we are offering 18 schollies this year and we only have one that isn't spoken for at this point. Also a guess, I base that off the fact that Bo was going to do an in home today with that O lineman that reconfirmed his original commitment. I think we get Ford, Peat, Moore, Fuller and possibly one more CB or we use that last scholarship for a walkon that has earned it.

Doubt any scholies go to walk-on's this year...not enough to go around. Could be wrong.
