I like the wide stance he uses which helps ensure good velocity! He stood in and took a couple pretty good shots on the film. Watching the offensive sets, many reminded me of what Beck is trying to do. He ran some zone read, there was a receiver in motion in the back field. Would be a great first get to build the class around!

Yeah how could I miss that with all of the moaning on this fourm....I think the 'issues' are more than just him....but keep on preaching....its all his fault...
Alot of schools would like to have these 'issues':
Rushing: 188 carries for 874 yards.....4.6 average.....9 TDs
Passing: 162-288 for 2089 yards passing.....56.2 completion rate...13 TDS/8 Ints
Almost 3,000 yards of of offense.....

What's not to like, good mechanics, accuracy, velocity and mobile. Heck, I think he even looked off the safety on one of the plays. Hope we get a shoe in early.

Fairly certain posters are allowed to say what they think regardless of what you think..
Hopefully, we can get this kid.. Looks good on film.
Watching more of the film it looks like he will often lock on a receiver.. that can get worked out though.

My thoughts . . .
- Kid can flat out "sling it" . . . seems very accurate, great touch, effortless release
- Decent wheels. We don't really need a sprinter, we just need someone with good running ability/vision and some elusiveness to be effective
- Agree that he looks more dual-threat than pro-style
- Would be a great get based on the film

Red Reign, In your second message you asked: "What do you think". You asked for opinions and you got them. Then when the opinions used comparison to our current QB you get huffy? What did you expect us to express? How we sure liked the kid and hoped he would come to NU and be just 75% as good as TM? I watched the clip and I liked what I saw because he looked years ahead of the QB we currently have who is light years ahead of the reserves(per the coach speak) and TM has only played QB for 4 years. What's not to like about a QB that can pass and run and looks like he has the mechanics needed to be successful.
If you don't want our opinion, don't ask for it and just post and lock the thread.....you are a moderator you know--so you can lock it!!

Honestly I know what many folks think of Martinez....the flameout is all over the football forum...it gets old......real old and thats my opinion and a few other folks i might say....
I asked about this young man.....not Martinez....
Why would I lock it? That would be wrong no matter what anyone said as long as it does not break board rules...which none of this does...and would make it look like I am taking advantage of my position as a Mod...which I would never do....
