    Two open weekends

    There are still two open weekends in next years Sked. Any guesses on which weekend will be filled and by whom?? Hoping something will be announced in the near future. Like to make my travel plans early, things fill up fast in Lincoln and getting time off and planning can be a pain coming from the Great White North.

    Well, we already have 10 teams on the schedule who went to bowls in 2011.

    Since we're already playing UCLA, there's probably not a lot of pressure to pick up another BCS-level team. My guess is that we'll probably scrape someone out of the WAC or Mountain West (ie, Fresno, Wyoming) and the obligatory FCS team like South Dakota State.

    Nobody to get excited about. We're not scheduling Texas, Notre Dame or Florida.

    Five National Titles (9th) :: 880 Wins (4th) :: Most Conference Championships in FBS (46)
    52 Bowl Appearances (3rd) :: 353 NFL Draft Picks (5th) :: 3 Heisman Winners (5th)
    57 Unanimous All-Americans (8th) :: 315 Academic All-Americans (1st)
    Nation-Leading Sellout Streak (347 Games, Started Nov. 1962)

    Two open weekends, but only one more game, right? I thought we were already at 11 games.

    Yep, at 11 games. I would imagine a FCS opponent will make an appearance in Lincoln September 22nd. I believe North Dakota St. has an open spot on their sched that day.

    I think we need to schedule another date with the Omaha Balloon School. It's been awhile since we played, and I'm tired of hearing about how we just got lucky last time.

    Is Lincoln High available? We could have a throw back game with vintage unis.

    One of my buddies at work is an Arkansas fan. He said that he's heard rumblings about NU playing Arkansas on Sept. 22 in Dallas at the Palace. I tend to agree with the thinking that we'll end up playing Girl Scout Troop #7, but I think it would be pretty cool if we ended up playing a team like Arkansas (not that our schedule isn't already tough enough).

    Florida Atlantic is currently available on 9/22.

    Appears the Owls will be playing NU in 2014. Possible Pelini Bowl I.

    That would be awesome, couldn't question strength of sked.
