It is definitely plausible. If, as many believe, JP becomes the new DC (even if Bo actually does the job) a DL coach would be needed. JP can't do all of the jobs (i.e., DC, DL coach, Special Teams coach, and recruiting coordinator).
I always turn to the sports pages first, which records people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures. Earl Warren

What is his previous experience with Bo? It seems that the hires are usually people that Bo's worked with previously. Does anyone know if they have worked together before?

I already don't like him. If he wants to be a Huskers he should not want to wait until after the bowl game. I seriously question his loyalty, I think he needs to go!
I like it. The last few years Iowa has been more than solid up front.
"I told him to be patient, that these things have a way of working themselves out." -- Tom Osborne to Steve Taylor when Taylor voiced concerns about the direction of the football program under Bill Callahan and Steve Pederson.

perhaps words with friends?

interesting article on Kaczenski:
Rick Kaczenski is a rising star in the coaching ranks, and will almost certainly get a promotion somewhere else if he doesn't get the defensive coordinator position at Iowa. He's also loyal to Kirk Ferentz and to Iowa, and the question remains whether he'd take a promotion somewhere else if offered.

I'm more in the camp that we want an experienced position guy if J.P. is elevated, and more importantly we want a homerun recruiter. Why bring in another relatively young coach?
Edit: my math wasn't mathing on his years of experience.
If we credit coaches for the accomplishments of players than I think it would be a great hire. The article referenced by coherbie says he's had the 3rd most D-line players drafted (only following Alabama and LSU). If you weighted out differences in the caliber of athlete coming out of high school, I think it's probably safe to assume the kids he's coached have experienced the biggest "jump" during their college careers. Clayborn was a beast anyway.

By my count there are 7 linemen he's coached currently in "the league" with Binns and Daniels likely to get drafted this year. Nebraska currently has Carriker and Suh playing DL in the NFL, though others have been drafted, and Pierre Allen is still on the Seahawks practice squad right?
Edit: I forgot that Iwebma had been released this year, and a couple of "the 7" are practice squad players currently. Also, Kroul, I think, switched to OL. But as a position group, I'd say sending 9 (presuming the current players get drafted or signed) to the NFL in 5 years is pretty good even if they don't all "stick".
Need D line coach that understands both the offensive line and how the D line can use their hands and feet to beat them......We haven't had that, no motor skills!. Bo is the DC and Carl was and/or Papuchis are just the puppets. Our staff is a little young and we need to feed and grow but keep them around like TO did!

Notre Dame only had one Rudy but Nebraska gets a new crop of Rudys every season
