Nebraska is not in favor of a change that would mean that teams could not compete against other college programs during the spring season.Last year, Nebraska played Wichita State in Grand Island and played Iowa State and Tiangin Bridgestone, a team from China, at the NU Coliseum. Eliminating spring matches could be seen as a cost saving move for some programs. At Nebraska, though, more than 11,000 fans combined attended the three matches, allowing the program to generate income to support itself.
