Alec Baldwin strikes again
-
typical hollywood crowd that has a better way to run the world; their way.

I don't see the problem. Sky waitress should have kept her mouth shut in regards to what game he was playing.
Article didn't state that it was part of the "please turn off your phone" precaution at the beginning of a flight. Which is a rule I regularly ignore anyway.

I don't see an issue either unless he was told to shut it off already. But if at the gate I don't see that being the case.
Born a Nebraskan, raised a Nebraskan, will die a Nebraskan!! Go Big Red!
Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” - Gamalie the Pharisee - Addressing the Sanhedrin regarding the new group called Christians
"I support collecting more in taxes from people with high incomes who choose to actually pay taxes at lower tax rates than use lawyers and accountants to avoid taxes at higher tax rates," he wrote. "Some tax revenues at low tax rates is a heckuva lot better than no tax revenues at high tax rates." - Art Laffer (on 999 plan)

I was in the Admiral’s Club when I hear them call it in,” Cardone, 53, told The News while on a plane bound for Dallas. “I asked why he was being kicked off and it was for ‘abusive conduct to a flight attendant.’
all I am suggesting is that mr. Baldwin seems to be a pompous ass and stuff like this only hardens opinions of him. I guess respect and a little grumbling to ones self is not enough and you have to berate someone to make yourself feel better.

Sounds like good advice for the sky waitress.

Mr. Baldwin is special and the sooner we all realize that the better this world will be.

The last straw in the Alec Baldwin/American Airlines incident came when he "slammed" the bathroom door so loudly the captain of Flight 4 had to get involved ... according to people on the plane.
We're told Baldwin's tweets about the incident are on point -- flight attendants wanted him to shut off his cell phone in the middle of a game of "Words with Friends" ... after the cabin door closed, but the plane remained at the gate.
But according to passengers ... after the confrontation over his phone, Alec got up to go to the bathroom and angrily slammed the lavatory door. We're told it was so loud the captain called back to flight attendants to find out what was happening.
That's when the captain himself made the call to have Baldwin removed.
Sources close to Alec claim he did not slam the door, and only got up to get the flight attendant's name so he could file a complaint -- but because the fasten seat belt sign was on he was asked to leave the plane.
Alec boarded the next LAX-JFK flight -- and we're guessing he's enjoying an intense match of 'Words' right now ... at 40,000 feet.
Above from TMZ.
I know on all of my flights, and I fly often once the cabin door is closed all electronic devices are to be turned off. If baldwin wants to throw a tantrum and you want to defend that that's your perogative, I choose to live in grown up world and show a modicum of respect when in some one else's home

he should check out words over in perpetual; I'll kick his butt.

You choose to be a grown up and put your game away when your told. That's funny. He could have handled it better, but if she was commenting on his choice of game or being snarky, she could have handled it better as well.

Just curious, where are you reading about anything snarky or specific to the game he was playing except from Alec Baldwin? Just using sensible probabilities, he was asked to turn off his electronic device (like everyone else) and did not comply. I was just on a flight over Thanksgiving and a flight attendant had to explain to someone that simply closing your laptop did not suffice...it had to be powered down. They are pretty consistant with this expectation right before boarding...but there's always some JA who thinks they are exempt for whatever reason. Not necessarily celebrities, but it does seem to usually be an arrogant punk of some sort.

Where are you seeing anything about slamming doors except from the airline?
My iPhone and Ipad remain in ready states even when "off". I also am not arrogant about ignoring the rule, I make sure to wait until the sky waitresses are sitting down waiting for take off or landing and then go back to what I was doing. Not all the time but quite often.
Its the rebel in me.

I could always have my blackberry on as long as the wireless was off; flight attendants never had a problem.
-
the stupid airlines with the stupid rules of turning off all electronics once the door closes...there have been studies and they have shown there is no adverse effect on the plane from the electronics. for starters, the electronics emit on different wavelengths than the avionics so there's no conflict there. utter stupidity by FAA.

Utter childishness by those who whine about it and "go about doing what they were doing". Personally, I'm glad people have to shut off their damn phones on airplanes. a few hours out of one's life without being "connected" won't kill anyone...although you'd think it would with some.

And I bet even you would simply flash a smile and turn it off if you got caught 2 minutes later. Not get up and pout like a little B. The pilot had to call back to ask what was going on. Doubt he's part of some anti Baldwin conspiracy.

RP,
The slamming of the door was reported by other passengers, you should read the whole story. Now it is TMZ and you may find them dubious but it wasn't the airline that reported it.

Generally all I'm doing is listening to an audiobook or playing a non-connected game. I can leave it in airplane mode and have no issues.
So, yeah. I'll keep doing it, cause I can.

This is entirely true, which is why I said he could have handled it differently.
