Any touted prospect such as the 4 star Jackson should expect nothing less playing for the vaunted Pelini Blackshirt defense. Prince A was an unknown 3-star guy who they developed into an All American corner and made filthy NFL rich. :-)
Nothing, of course, can top being a Husker though!
Let's hope that he can buckle down and hit the books each semester while at Nebraska to keep his eligibility...assuming he makes it.
Maybe he needs to redshirt and really hit the books hard and get a lot of hours out of the way!! Man if I was a talented db coming out of high school, why wouldn't you want to play under the Pelini's? You will reach your maximum potential and be able to play at a very high level!

Probably not a bad idea, and a redshirt may happen anyway. However, the athletic department surveyed incoming football recruits several years ago and found that that the vast majority thought that the NFL was in their future. And while I wish him the best, I hope the young man realizes that only a small percentage of college football players ever make it to the NFL, and most that do have a relatively short career. I also hope he takes advantage of his education opportunities.
I really hate Penn State! (And I'm not that wild about Iowa either.)

One of the big advantages Nebraska has for players is that the school really does emphasize academics and provides the support players need to succeed academically. If he makes it, and it sounds like he will, he should do fine. They'll make sure he does.

I am well aware of Nebraska's reputation with regards to academics. However, it might not hurt him to redshirt. Many people believe it is a benefit for players to redshirt in order to get bigger/stronger. It looks like it might benefit this player to get accustomed to hitting the books with the same passion that he has for making plays on the football field.

I agree, just commenting on the academic help he'll get no matter what happens.
