So, doesn't the largest one of the bunch survive and starve the others usually?
Not typically. It does happen sometimes but this pair has raised 3 different broods (2,3,3) from eggs to full fledge. A total of 8 Eagles have been successfully raised and took off from this nest. Even though Freedom is getting beat on pretty good he is still getting enough to eat. S/he is getting stronger and should be fine. Even fights back sometimes.
NPR's All Things Considered covered the Eagles in a story today. Very entertaining. They even mentioned my Shimmy youtube video in it. Here is the story on the NPR site. You can listen to the 3 minute clip there.
I've lost the feed. Is anyone else experiencing problems with the camera?
Feed has been going on and off all morning. Time to use some of those donation dollars for a new computer maybe. I'm not sure what kind of internet connection he has out there on the farm. That might be the problem too. What we have been told is it is on RRP's side not on UStream.
All I know is Bob ain't happy about it either and has been working hard to get it fixed. I hate the pixel issues they have been having lately.
If I'm not too rusty with my "Eagle" I think he was giving her darn for being gone so long. He called to her two times about 10 minutes apart and she wasn't responding. He finally left but I can only assume he'd spotted her beforehand. She arrived almost right away.
